Bass Coast Shire Council, YMCA Victoria, and Aligned Leisure have been working together to minimise any disruption to you and your family when using the facilities and services, but there will be some changes, so we have put together the following information to assist you.
All of your customer and membership information has been securely transferred to Aligned Leisure, and your membership will continue without interruption. There is no need for you to take any action.
Gymnastics FAQs
Will the Gymnastics program change?
The program will remain, and all gymnastics programs will continue.
We understand how crucial consistent and high-quality gymnastics training is for your child’s development and enjoyment. We want to reassure you that the programs, levels, and skills your gymnasts are currently learning will continue to be based on age-appropriate and level-appropriate requirements.
While some of the class names may change slightly to align with Gymnastics Victoria’s naming conventions, the core skills, foundations, and fundamentals of gymnastics will remain unchanged. Your child’s progression and development in gymnastics will continue seamlessly.
Will my gymnastics class time or day change?
We will make every effort to transition existing students into classes on the same day and time. We will contact families in the event a change is required prior to 1 July.
Will I have the same gymnastics coach?
Current staff have been offered employment with Aligned Leisure, with the hope you will see many familiar faces around the centre.
What will my new class name be?

Will Gymnasts need to be reassessed?
No. Aligned Leisure has mapped the new curriculum to the YMCA program, meaning there is no need for reassessments.
Will the debit process change?
No. Your direct debit schedule will remain fortnightly, with the first direct debit from Aligned Leisure commencing Thursday 10 July 2025 in line with the current YMCA debit cycle.
Has the membership fees increased?
On average membership fees have increased by 3.0 per cent.
